For those who would like to learn more about camping, a fun program will be taking place next week with the Dallas County Conservation Board.

The Introduction to Backpacking and Primitive Camping program will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. August 4th at the Kuehn Conservation Area. Outreach Coordinator Sarah Gilchrist says the program is taking place at one of the various places you can camp throughout Dallas County.

“If that’s something that interests you but you’re a little bit nervous about going out there, living off the grid a little bit, this program by Zach Moss is a way to get a little educated on that before you head out on your own. He’ll have gear, you can bring your own if you have a tent and you don’t know how to put it up and you want to learn how you could bring it and Zach could help you learn about that.”

Those attending will learn more about what gear you should or shouldn’t pack, safety considerations and what and how to eat and all ages are welcome to attend.
