As is customary, the Panorama Panthers football team will have the same schedule of teams this year that they had last year and it’s time to take a look at what should be expected as the Panthers prepare for their upcoming season.
Carrying the same schedule this season the Panthers football team should know what to expect as they prepare for the upcoming season. The Panthers are members of the West Central Activities Conference alongside 11 other schools and the schedule has them playing five teams on their district schedule, which is Class 1A District 7, in Van Meter, Interstate 35, AC/GC, West Central Valley and Nodaway Valley. The non-district games include Colfax-Mingo, Pella Christian and Central Decatur.
Looking back at last season the Panthers will be looking to improve as they finished last year with a record of 1-7 with their lone win coming against the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks in week one by a score of 26-21 on the legs of Ryan Cogil who had 203 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Three of the other games last year the Panthers were unable to generate points against Van Meter, AC/GC and West Central Valley but the Panthers were competitive in all the rest and will be looking to take another step forward this year as there will be plenty of returners as last years team featured plenty of freshman and sophomores.
The Panthers will officially begin their season on August 26th when they take on the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks for week one of the regular season.
