As we continue looking at the stats recorded by both baseball and softball players for the West Central Valley Wildcats today, we’ll start with junior Braiden Beane. He played and started in 28 games, made it to the plate 75 times, and collected 20 runs and 20 hits. Of those hits, 16 were singles, 2 were doubles, 1 was a triple, and 1 was a home run. He recorded 13 RBI’s, 1 sacrifice fly, was walked 19 times, and hit by a pitch 8 times.

Beane reached on error twice, and was struck out 25 times, while finishing the season with a batting average of .267, an on base percentage of .456, and a slugging percentage of .360. He was successful on all 23 of his attempted base steals, had 13 assists, 115 put outs, and a fielding percentage of .948. In his time on the mound, Beane pitched 9 innings, throwing 206 times against 50 opponents, who were only able to record an opponent batting average of .120 on him, letting him finish the season with an ERA of 7.

Junior Bethany Speichinger of the softball team started and played in all 37 games, like many of the other key players. She was at the plate 21 times, recording 4 runs, 4 single base hits, and 4 RBI’s. She sacrificed on 4 bunts, was hit by a pitch once, and struck out 6 times, while recording a batting average of .190, an on base percentage of .227, and a slugging percentage of .190. From the field, Speichinger recorded 16 put outs, and a fielding percentage of .941.
