Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center has named a new volleyball coach for the 2022 season.

Barb South will be the next AC/GC Head Varsity Volleyball Coach taking over for Jen Policky. South has coach junior high and high school volleyball for over 10 years, served as the junior varsity and assistant AC/GC volleyball coach last year and is also the full time councilor at the AC/GC High School. South says she is thrilled to hit the ground running for the new season.

“I’m very excited. I’ve been working with the girls. Of course, I worked with them last year, the assistant coach. So I know we have a very talented bunch. We, we, I think we only lost one match last year as a JV team.”

South explains that having Aspen Matthewson as an assistant coach will be very important to the success of the team.

” Aspen (Matthewson) and I have you know, I’ve coached a lot of years. She’s played a lot of sports and even at the D1 level, and we we just work really well together. I think it’s a good combination of experience and athletism.”

South says this year the team will bring back a lot of experience along with having talent.
