A new coach is going to usher in a new season this year for the Panorama Panthers Volleyball Team and there will be plenty of returners to the court this year.
Last year this team was coached be Head Coach Joanne Sandage who helped the team to an overall record of 7-21 and dropped their last game in the Class 2A Region 3 Quarterfinals against the Southwest Valley Timberwolves dropping all three sets last year.
The team last year had six seniors in Grace Webner, Carley Van Gundy, Angel Poldberg, Jasmarie Flanery, Mollie Monthei and Andrea Hammer who played their last season for the Panorama Panthers volleyball team and won’t be present this year but there are plenty of players who should be returning.
This year the team will be under the direction of Head Coach Mollie Sorber and returning players should include Jaidyn Sellers and Tyme Boettcher who combined for 174 kills last year. Sellers and Boettcher also led the way in the defensive category as they combined for 133 blocks with Boettcher accounting for 77 and 56 from Sellers. Boettcher finished 8th in Class 2A in blocks while Sellers finished 37th in all of Class 2A. Both of these girls also received postseason recognition as well.
There are plenty of other players who should be returning to the court this year for Panthers Volleyball as there were 11 girls on last year’s team who should be playing again this year when the season officially gets underway later this year.
Also, as a reminder the Panthers Volleyball team will be hosting a player/parent meeting beginning at 5 p.m. August 4th at the Panorama High School Auditorium where the team will be going over the handbook, calendar and asking any questions they may have about the upcoming season.
