Tyson Foods has announced that grant funding is going to multiple Perry organizations to help with the fight against hunger.

Tyson Foods awarded $1.5 million in grants to 63 community organizations to support hunger relief which includes $25,000 to the Perry Community School District, $10,000 for Friends of the Perry Public Library and $2,500 for the Perry Area Emergency Food Council. Tyson also donated $25,000 to the Food Bank of Iowa which is based in Des Moines but the donation will go directly to help the Perry community.

These national grants were awarded as a response to requests from food banks to support local food assistance programs and local first responders wanting to improve the efficiency of their operations.
