This weekend, Greene County and surrounding residents are invited to an event that will take them back in time to the early years of agricultural farming in Iowa.
The 23rd Annual Pleasant Prairie Threshing Bee is Saturday at Foster Family Farms in Jefferson. The day includes an oat threshing demonstration at 10am, followed by a steam plowing exhibition at 2pm. Additionally, there will be corn shelling and other steam engine and tractor displays throughout the day. Everything is free at the threshing bee event and people can learn what farming was like two centuries ago.
Foster Family Farms is located at 1176 M Avenue.
