As we continue looking at the stats recorded by both baseball and softball players for the West Central Valley Wildcats today, we’ll start with sophomore Owen Weber of the baseball team. He started and played in 22 games, with 55 at bats, 10 runs, and 8 hits, all of which were singles. He also recorded 4 RBI’s, 3 sacrifice bunts, was walked 7 times, was hit by 3 pitches, and reached on error 4 times.

Weber was struck out 15 times, recording a batting average of .145, an on base percentage of .277, and a slugging percentage of .145. He also went 1 for 1 on stolen bases, had 15 assists, 25 put outs, and had a fielding percentage of .909. In the pitching stats, Weber pitched 11 innings, throwing 229 pitches to 72 batters, giving an opponent batting average of .333, and recording an ERA of 8.91.

For the softball team, junior and star pitcher Marissa Hagen started in 34 of the 36 games she played, recording 97 at bats and 5 runs. She hit 31 times, with 28 singles and 3 doubles, bringing in 24 RBI’s, 5 sacrifice bunts and a sacrifice fly. She was walked 25 times, reached on error 3 times, was struck out 9 times, and recorded a batting average of .320, an on base percentage of .455, and a slugging percentage of .351.

Hagen had 43 assists, 9 put outs, and a fielding percentage of .945. She was the main pitcher for the Wildcats, pitching in 198 of the teams total 223 innings, facing off against 909 opposing batters, and only allowing opponents a batting average of .295, striking out 112 batters, and recording an ERA of 3.46. Hagen was also named to the West Central Activities Conference First Team.
