A new business is getting close to opening their doors in Guthrie County.
Guthrie County Quality Meats will be located in Guthrie Center and it will be a US Department of Agriculture inspected meat locker. Owner Grant Sheeder says they will also have a retail space to offer local products that go with meat along with custom work.
“We’ll have a state inspector there at least four days a week to have that ability to put personal labels or individual labels for different customers, along with our retail items that we’ll have offered through different grocery stores, restaurants or home delivery service that we have as well.”
He says they will process anything domesticated with hooves. Sheeder feels like a meat locker service is something that Guthrie County has needed for a while. He adds they have had multiple supply chain problems but expects Guthrie County Quality Meats to be open for business around the first week of September.
