Plans and designs are currently underway for downtown Jefferson’s third alleyway space.
Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community Tower View Team Chair Deb McGinn tells Raccoon Valley Radio a committee is working with an Iowa artist, Kelsey Wilson of Nevada, for the west alleyway, “Imagination Alley” as a kids area.
“What she has planned will just be delightful in that alley for kids to experience. The artwork will literally come alive using some new technology that she wants to incorporate. And so it’s just going to be another space to watch and eventually materialize in downtown.”
McGinn points out that Wilson was a vendor at last year’s Art on the Square event that was held in Jefferson and she is a published illustrator for children books and she thought working with Wilson would be a great opportunity to create a space for kids in the downtown square. McGinn hopes to have a finalized design for the alley and adds the project will take several months to complete.
