Grand Junction Pool
Greene County has its second outdoor pool option operational again.
The Grand Junction Municipal Pool is open for the rest of the season. City Council member Paula Hoskinson also serves on the city’s parks and rec and says the pool was delayed from opening at the beginning of summer because of having to install a new liner. The project was part of a Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation competitive grant last year for $70,000.
Hoskinson says the liner had to be installed in parts and double welded on. Crew availability and supply chain delays also caused the project to fall behind. However, Hoskinson is delighted to have the pool open and they decided to keep their daily admission charge very affordable for individuals and families with $1 for anyone who is six and older. Additionally, Hoskinson says the Grand Junction Lions Club also donated pool-related items such as new lifeguard umbrellas and covers for the tables, along with goggles and lifeguard whistles.
The Grand Junction Pool is open 1-6pm everyday, except for Wednesdays, when it stays open until 8pm.
