Another recipient was recently announced for the Jefferson Wants You Initiative.
Megan Ball, owner of Midwest Behavioral Health in downtown Jefferson was awarded a $5,000 grant for the start-up costs of the new business that opened this past May. The business is a substance use disorder treatment center that supports rehabilitation with life skills for those in need of substance recovery, further education and support back into the working class.
Ball says they currently have two full time positions that are filled and are looking to add more full and part time positions in the future.
The Jefferson Wants You Incentive Fund was established to help those new businesses with off-setting start-up costs or individuals working remotely to receive a grant for a membership to Gravitate Coworking in Jefferson. The funding for the initiative came from a Rural Return Grant as part of the Empower Rural Iowa Initiative. Additional funding also came from several local utilities, financial institutions and a Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation grant.
