The Dallas County Board of Supervisors approved the purchase of a Sheriff’s Office vehicle at their regular meeting Tuesday. 

The Board approved a 2022 Jeep Cherokee for $22,152. Also, the Board discussed the Dallas County Administration Building update including the options for creating more court space as the county continues to grow including new construction or renovating the courthouse  but took no action on the discussion item

The Board then discussed and decided on a new logo for Dallas County with one change and before rebranding can begin. The Board also approved several tax credit applications including the disallowance of disabled veteran homestead tax, allow those that qualified for disabled veteran homestead tax, along with the homestead tax credit and military exemption. 

The Board then approved the building inspections fiscal year 2023 service contract with Finestead Enterprises for  which includes a fee increase per inspection from $90 to $95 with everything else the same as last year’s contract. 

Finally, the Board discussed employee mileage reimbursement rate in relation to an increase as the current Federal Rate as of July 1st is $0.625 per mile and the county rate is well below that at $0.39 and the Board will consider the item at the next meeting. The Board then approved an appointment for the Historic Preservation Commission for Mike Finn.
