The Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center baseball ended their season in early July with a record of (10-19) overall and a conference record of (6-14).

Coach Taylor Morris tells Raccoon Valley Radio Sports that it was not the end to the season they wanted losing five straight games but he notes it was fun watching his veteran players lead the team and his younger player develop.

“I enjoy it. It’s something that you look forward to every year. I love baseball. I love these guys. It’s going to stink. Losing the four seniors we had just there, the first class true freshmen that I had when I came in here and losing a group like that group that’s a lot of success is always hard to see, but you just got to continue to reload. We have a good group of young guys coming back next year who are ready to hopefully be hungry to put some work in and make themselves better in the off season.”

He adds its nice to have an excellent coaching staff like Alan Mahaffey, Rick Rumelhart and Zach Brandt that put in a lot of work every year.
