The Perry Booster Club will be hosting a cookout this Friday in Perry to help raise funds for local activities.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Perry Fareway people will have the opportunity to get a meal of a pork loin sandwich, chips and water for $7 or just a sandwich for $4 while also supporting the Perry Booster Club. President Mindy Baxter says if you support the booster club you are also supporting youth and activities in the community.
“If you come out or if you support the booster club in any way you are putting it right back into our kids. That’s the main reason all these parents go out and they volunteer in these clubs is to put the money back into the kids and into not only the high school/middle school level but also the youth level. So, come out, you’re going to not only support the booster club but you’re supporting kids from preschool/kindergarten all the way up to twelfth grade. So, it’s going to be a great fundraiser for our youth of Perry and for the future of Perry.”
Baxter tells Raccoon Valley Radio the booster club is a group which meets once a month during the school year and provides assistance to high school and middle school athletics such as giving money for uniforms and supporting clubs among other things.
Also, Raccoon Valley Radio’s Little Big Red Radio will be live on location providing live updates during the event.
