adm-7

ADM Tiger softball played in their 4A state first round game yesterday in Fort Dodge against North Scott, and couldn’t find any late inning magic, falling to the seventh seed Lancers in a first round upset 2-1. ADM moves down to 32-5, and North Scott to 29-10, the Lancers to move to the semifinals against Dallas Center – Grimes on Wednesday.

The Tigers were able to open up the scoring in the second inning when Aliya Yanga was able to hit her 8th home run of the season over the center field fence to make it 1-0. North Scott would tie up the game in the 4th on a sacrifice bunt by Shelby Spears to make it 1-1. ADM had a shot to take the lead in the sixth with two outs, Olivia Tollari attempted to score on a passed ball, but was called out sliding into home on a very close play. The upset minded Lancers were able to grab the go ahead run in the seventh when Sydney Skarich picks the go ahead RBI single. ADM threatened with runners on the corners with two outs in the seventh inning, but pitcher Maddy McDermott strikes out Ella Grossman to end the game.

McDermott gives up one run, five hits, and six strikeouts in the win. Yanga picks up the loss giving up 8 hits, two runs, while recording eight strikeouts as well.

ADM will wrap up their season early this afternoon in Fort Dodge when they take on Indianola. First pitch will be at 1:30. You can listen to the game on True Country K1079, the KKRF app, and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
