The summer seasons have officially concluded for both the Panorama Panthers Baseball and Softball teams now it’s time to look ahead to the fall sports seasons and what might be in store in the coaching department.

Last season the Panorama Panthers Volleyball team was coached by Head Coach Joanne Sandage and that squad finished their season with an overall record of 7-21 and dropped their last game in the Class 2A Region 3 Quarterfinals against the Southwest Valley Timberwolves dropping all three sets.

When volleyball activities officially get underway this year the Panthers Volleyball team will now be under the direction of Head Coach Mollie Sorber who is excited to grow the program and create a solid foundation with a competitive atmosphere.

Coach Sorber will be inheriting a talented team including Jaidyn Sellers and Tyme Boettcher who should be returning to the court this season and combined the two of them accounted for 174 kills last season. Sellers and Boettcher also led the way in the defensive category as they combined for 133 blocks with Boettcher accounting for 77 and 56 from Sellers. Boettcher finished 8th in Class 2A in blocks while Sellers finished 37th in all of Class 2A.

The Panthers Volleyball team should also see other returning talent to the court this year as there were nine other Panthers players who weren’t seniors on last year’s team and will look to bring some experience back this year as well.

There were six seniors on last year’s team who won’t be returning to the court this year but there will still be plenty of experience left on the court this season when Coach Sorber gets the girls out on the court for the first time this season this fall and looks to get them back into the postseason again this year and make a push to the state tournament that will be held at the Xtreme Arena in Coralville.
