Today and tomorrow are the final days of the Greene County Fair.
Today’s festivities begin at noon with the livestock judging contest in the show ring, which is open to all ages. Water tag will take place from 1-5pm and that is free for anyone who wants to join at the North Hall. The Round Robin Showmanship contest will be at 1:30pm in the show ring. Then Sunday wraps up with all static and livestock exhibits checking out between 4 and 5pm.
Greene County Fair Board Member Jonathan Marshall shares his thoughts about planning for the fair, as the second consecutive year without covid restrictions.
“It’s a relief, simple as that. We can get back to business and not running around trying to figure out how to get by. If that has to be styrofoam plates or to-go cups. It’s just a relief that we do not have to mess with that any longer.”
Monday will be the appreciation breakfast, sponsored by the Greene County Fair Association at 8am, followed by the Junior Premium Auction at 8:30am, both in Clover Hall. Additionally, Raccoon Valley Radio’s Lil’ Big Red Radio is broadcasting live from the fair today from 10am-3pm.
