The White Rock Conservancy is asking any volunteers to help out with cleaning up their trails.
White Rock Conservancy Director Shae Rossetti says that the trail workday will take place at the Bett’s Shop in Coon Rapids from 9am until noon today. Rossetti says their mission is to continue to improve and maintain all the trails at Whiterock.
“We have over 40 miles of trail out here. And this season, specifically in the spring, just brought so much rain that we haven’t seen in a few years. You know, we’ve been in a drought and with that has really taken a toll on our trails. And we’ve had an amazing staff. We’re small but mighty and really do rely on a lot of volunteer help and assistance.
Rossetti hopes that these workdays will be a frequent event in the future.
“What we’re trying to do is create a recurring monthly volunteer day so that we can stay ahead of any trauma that needs to happen in the future.”
She says if anyone is willing to volunteer bring work clothing and Whiterock will supply all the tools. For more information visit here.
