Time is running out to participate in the Guthrie County Extension and Outreach’s initiative to boost tourism.

This will be the second year of the event called “Wild Places In Guthrie County.” The main goal of the activity is to pick up a flier at the Guthrie County Extension office which has five different locations that participants must visit. At each location there will be an objective to accomplish. Assistant Program Director Katy Jimmerson says that the participation has grown this year.

So we have had a lot of positive feedback saying that they love to get the opportunity to discover new places and I know the areas that we chose this year. A lot of them really liked it for advertising and helping get their name out there a little more so that they can connect more with the community and its youth.”

To be entered into the drawing for a prize, participants must take a picture at each location and post the pictures on Facebook, tag Guthrie County Extension, and #GuthrieCountyWildThings. The Extension Office will draw the names of two lucky winners to receive a mystery prize.

If you post entries at all five locations, you’ll receive five extra entries into the drawing. All entries will be due by Monday July 18th, 2022.
