The Perry Chamber of Commerce and members of the community joined at First Interstate Bank in Perry on Friday to celebrate the business with a ribbon cutting.

First Interstate Bank Retail Manager Trace Schmitt says the transition from being Great Western Bank to First Interstate Bank was official on May 23rd. Schmitt says for customers who may have any questions they should feel free to ask them.

“As it relates to the transition, any questions that you have, we are the same faces here in Perry and I would encourage you to give us a call, stop in. Any questions or concerns that you have just so we can make sure we are all on the same page.”

Schmitt tells Raccoon Valley Radio the bank is headquartered out of Billings, Montana and as part of the merger the bank committed a donation to the First Interstate Bank Foundation which Schmitt says will have exciting news in the upcoming weeks which includes pledging $25,000 grants to 40 different organizations across the 14 state footprint.

“These are organizations that were nominated by our local employees. In the Perry office we have nominated several non-profit organizations to hopefully share in those awards.”
