Next weekend in Jefferson people can find some good deals on a variety of items as it will be the city-wide garage sale.

Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community is hosting the two-day event on July 15th and 16th. Promotions Team Co-Chair Bonnie Silbaugh tells Raccoon Valley Radio this idea was inspired by this weekend’s Sidewalk Sale retail promotion where the city-wide garage sale would also get people to shop locally.

“We’ve heard from the community a lot that they wanted a city-wide date where people can be encouraged to have garage sales. Because right now it’s just here or there, it’s really small ones. And so we’ve taken the feedback from our customers and turned that into a weekend of garage sales.     

Those interested in having a garage sale next weekend must register with Jefferson Matters by July 11th at 4pm to be included in a map of the different garage sale locations. Silbaugh notes participants will have their address listed as well as basic details of what is available for purchase. She adds that it is free to be included on the map and the suggested times for the garage sale weekend are 4-7pm July 15th and 8am-noon July 16th.
