There are a couple of youth programs coming up later this month with the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department.
Kindergartners through fourth graders are encouraged to participate in the “Hy-Vee Presents: Healthy Snack Class” July 11th and 12th at the Greene County Community Center. Participants will learn how to make healthy snacks and prepare the food as their age permits. The classes will be 2-3pm each day and the cost is $15 for community center members and $20 for non-members.
Those interested in learning or improving their volleyball skills are invited to a couple of volleyball camps at the community center. The third and fourth grade camp is from 1:45-3pm, while the fifth and sixth grade camp is from 12:30-1:45pm from July 12th-14th. Both programs will be led by Greene County High School Varsity Volleyball Head Coach Chris Heisterkamp and some of the varsity players. Cost to attend is $15 for community center members and $20 for non-members.
Contact the community center at 515-386-3412 or stop by to sign up.
