novel-coronavirus

In the month of June, Adair County saw  a jump in positive COVID-19 cases.

Public Health Director Stephanie Clausson says while the county is still at a low transmission rate they have seen 23 reported cases in the last 14 days which has been in increase. She explains the latest holiday celebrations have led the cases to trend up.

“But for the most part, what most affects the spread of covid is the human behavior over the weather so the less gatherings close together the less spread there will be.”

She adds while the warm weather doesn’t affect the virus, just being outside does.

Being outside does help because then that’s more air circulation and less likely to spread the virus.”

Causson explains a good way to protect yourself is getting the vaccine which can be done by contacting the Adair County Public Health Department.
