The Panorama Panthers Softball team took on the AC/GC Chargers in the first round of regional play in Class 2A Region 4 and emerged victorious over their Guthrie County rival on Friday night in Guthrie Center.

The Panthers Softball team was looking to pick up their first win over the Chargers this season Friday night in their first round of regional play as earlier this week the Panthers girls fell to the Chargers in both double header games by scores of 15-14 and 7-3.

Friday night the Panthers girls were playing for the right to move on to the next round of regional play here in the postseason and they put together a solid 11-9 victory over the Chargers Friday night in Guthrie Center. After two innings of play the game was 7-5 in favor of the Chargers.

Then it was a scoreless third and fourth inning for both teams and the Panthers roared to life in the fifth inning plating five runners while the Chargers only got one runner across home plate. Both teams scored one run apiece in the sixth inning and then a scoreless seventh inning put the Panthers girls on top 11-9. The Panthers girls managed their 11 runs on eight hits throughout the night while the Chargers got nine runs on 10 hits.

The Panorama Panthers Softball team got a win over the AC/GC Chargers on Friday night and earned the right to move on to the next round of regional play where they will take on the Interstate 35 Roadrunners beginning at 7 p.m. July 6th. The Panther girls will come in with an overall record of 2-25 while the Roadrunners have a record of 22-6.

These teams just recently got their first look at each other this season as they played a double header on June 28th where the Roadrunners emerged with the victory in both games by scores of 18-2 and 13-1. The Panthers are moving on to the second round of their regional competitions after a win over the AC/GC Chargers Friday night and will take on the Interstate 35 Roadrunners on July 6th at 7 p.m. at Interstate 35 High School in Truro.
