Perry Baseball hit the diamond Monday against Greene County.

It would be battle of two teams that have had their struggles this season. Greene County coming in with a 5-12 record and Perry with a 1-16 respectively.

The game started off in the right direction for Perry. Senior Carter Iben led off with a double off his first pitch. Owen Meyers would ground out. But that wouldn’t stop Iben from stealing third. Then Kain Killmer hit a single to give Perry a 1-0 lead after the first inning.

Then it was all Greene County. The Rams were scoreless in the first but then scored five runs in the second. This would give them a 5-1 lead. The Bluejays couldn’t rebound and gave up one run in the 3rd, three runs in the 4th, and one last run in the 6th to give Green County the win 10-1.

Perry will wrap up the season on Friday. It’s a home game against Winterset with first pitch at 7:30pm.
