The Panorama Panthers Baseball and Softball teams took on their inter-county rival in the AC/GC Chargers on Monday in double header action for both teams that turned into some instant classic performances.

After Mother Nature scrapped the first meeting between these two teams earlier in June, Monday was bumped to a double header for both teams to fit both games in for the season. The Panorama teams were seeing the Chargers for the first time this season and for Panthers Softball they also saw the team they will face off against in the first round of postseason play when it begins this Friday for softball.

The Panthers baseball team was looking to pick up another couple of wins on the season and in their first game against the Chargers they were able to pick up a 7-4 victory to improve to 6-13 on the year. The Panthers then took on the Chargers in game two of the double header in what turned into an outstanding game that needed extra innings to decide the outcome in what turned into an instant classic as the Panthers were able to grind out a close victory 5-4 in nine innings of baseball to improve to 7-13 on the year and sweeping the Chargers in their regular season series.

The Panthers Softball team was looking to pick up their second win of the season and in the first game against the Chargers Monday night they fell by a final score of 7-2 which dropped their record to 1-21 on the year. The second game turned into a battle between both teams in a high scoring affair as both the Panthers and Chargers were able to plate multiple runners throughout game two which resulted in a final score of 15-14 in favor of the Chargers dropping the Panthers record to 1-22 on the year and the Panthers will see the Chargers again on Friday for the first round of regional play.

The Panorama Panthers Softball and Baseball teams have another double header today when they take on the Interstate 35 Roadrunners for the first time this season and it will be the last home game of the regular season tonight which will also be Strike Out Cancer and Senior Night.
