
Dallas Center – Grimes softball and baseball were on the field on Monday night against the Norwalk Warriors as home, and both are able to find a pair of big wins, softball 9-8 and baseball 5-1. Softball moves to 26-6 on the year and takes first place in the Little Hawkeye Conference, while baseball gets to two games above .500 at 16-14.
Softball was in an exciting back and forth contest between two top ten teams, as Elle Nelsen was able to deliver the walk off hit to give the Mustangs the big victory. DCG was able to take two of three on the season against Norwalk, and now controls their own destiny to a conference championship.
Baseball was able to find some great success throughout the night, as they were able to get a four run fifth inning. Dayne Mauk and Spencer Hall were both able to hit home runs in the frame, and Dariel Santana was able to grab a 2 RBI hit as well as DCG completes the season sweep.
Softball plays in their next game tonight when they take on Urbandale on the road. That first pitch will be at 6:45. Baseball will have a varsity doubleheader at home on Wednesday night when they take on the Newton Cardinals. First pitch will be at 5:30.
