Greene County hosted Perry in a high school baseball doubleheader in Jefferson at Allensworth Field on Monday night with the Rams winning both games. Greene County was the visiting team in game on and won 10-0 in six innings by the 10 run rule. Game two’s final was 10-1 after Perry scored a first inning run. Coach Matt Paulsen’s team improved to 7-12 on the season and 5-7 in the conference while Perry fell to 1-17 and 1-12.

Joe Carey was the wining pitcher in game one with nine strikeouts and 5-1/3 innings of no-hit ball before Juan Hernandez doubled for Perry’s only hit. Carey walked no one and did not hit anyone with a pitch. The Rams had 11 hits with Bryce Stalder collecting a triple and two singles, Max Riley three singles, a single and double by Justin Stream, base hits from Noble Hoyt, Brayden Roberts, and Dakota Mobley. The Rams led 2-0 after one inning and it stayed that way until a six run fifth, and two more in the seventh.

Game two saw another dominant Greene County pitching performance with Stalder striking out 11, including six in a row at one point. After the Blue Jays scored in the first, the Rams scored the next 10, including five runs in the second inning. Carey had three hits and a run batted in for Greene County. The Rams out hit the Blue Jays 10 to six.

Greene County is home tonight with Southeast Valley (Gowrie) in non-conference play before closing out the HOIAC and regular season schedules Wednesday vs. Nevada at Allensworth Field on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
