Dallas Center – Grimes baseball and softball both have big games in Grimes tonight, as they both welcome Norwalk in games that will have a big mark in the conference standings.

The winner of the softball game will get first place in the Little Hawkeye Conference, with Norwalk having a 24-4 and 17-1 conference record, DCG 25-6 and 16-1 in LHC. Norwalk is number 4 in 4A and DCG is number 6, both teams have already secured top overall seeds in their region for softball next week. Both teams one conference loss came against each other back earlier in June, Norwalk winning their game 1-0 and DCG theirs 4-2. DCG is on a five game winning streak and Norwalk is on a seven game win streak. The winner of this game will be in the drivers seat to win conference.

DCG is 15-14 and Norwalk is 15-15, with this game key to DCG looking to stay toward the top of the conference standings where they currently are 11-6. DCG was able to sweep the doubleheader in the first matchup 6-2 and 1-0.

First pitch for both games will be at 7:30 pm tonight, as both teams will look for big wins.
