After enjoying a day away from games this week the Panorama Panthers Softball and Baseball teams will get back out on the diamond today for a double header against the Earlham Cardinals.

In terms of the schedule the Panthers will be taking on the Earlham Cardinals for the first time this year. The Panthers Softball team is coming into today’s double header with an overall record of 1-17 on the year while the Panthers Baseball team currently has a record of 4-12 so far this season. The Cardinals Softball team has a record of 8-16 on the year and the Cardinals Baseball team has a record of 3-13.

The Panthers Softball team is coming off of a close game against the Woodward-Granger Hawks that was the conclusion of a game that was suspended last week. Against the Cardinals today the Panthers will be looking to snap a six year losing streak to the Cardinals as the Panthers Softball team hasn’t beaten the Cardinals since 2016 and the Cardinals hold the advantage dating back to 2007 with a record of 24-4 against the Panthers girls.

Some statistical factors for the Panthers Softball team will be continuing to get solid contact from the bats as four players have contributed home runs on the year for a total of eight so far this season and three players have a batting average above .300 on the year as well. Pitching wise the Panthers girls are only surrendering a batting average of .214 so far this year as the Panthers Softball team will be looking pick up another couple of wins today.

The Panthers Baseball team will have the opportunity to even out their historical matchups record against the Cardinals with today’s double header as the Cardinals hold the slight advantage dating back to 2009 with a record of 13-11 against the Panther but with two wins the Panthers would be able to even the score.

Today, the Panthers Baseball team will be looking to continue their strong performances from the pitchers mound as Brice Taylor has an ERA of 2.86 through 29 innings with 32 strikeouts, Austin Block has an ERA of 2.07 through 23 innings with 15 strikeouts and Braedon Draper has an ERA of 7 through 15 innings with 17 strikeouts. The Panthers Baseball team will be looking to even out the historical series against the Cardinals with a couple of wins today.

The Panorama Panthers Softball and Baseball teams will get their first look at the Earlham Cardinals today when they both play a double header at home at Panorama High School as the regular season continues for the Panthers.
