The Panorama Panthers Softball and Baseball teams battled with a fellow West Central Activities Conference foe in double header action on Thursday in Panora.
The Des Moines Christian Lions made the trip from Urbandale on Thursday to take on the Panthers in double header action and both the Panthers Baseball and Softball teams battled throughout the evening on Thursday but both teams lost both of their games.
The Panthers Baseball team took on the Lions who sit second in the West Central Activities Conference. The Panthers were able to battle it out in one game where the Lions came out with a 4-1 victory in a close game and then the second game the Panthers couldn’t get the bats going as the fell by a score of 17-1. The Panthers boys fell to 4-10 on the year so far and will be looking to get back out on the diamond on Monday when they travel to Madrid to take on the Tigers.
The Panthers Softball team was looking to pick up their second win of the season against the Lions on Thursday but lost game one of the double header 14-8 in what ended up being a shootout and in the second the Panthers girls struggled to plate runs as they fell by a score of 14-1. The Panthers Softball team now has an overall record of 1-13 on the year.
While the Panthers Baseball team won’t take the field again until Monday when both the baseball and softball teams take on the Madrid Tigers in Madrid the Panthers Softball team will head back out today when they take part in a tournament at AC/GC High School in Guthrie Center.
