Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Dallas County has a new home.
Regional Director Ann Torbert says the Dallas County Fair Board built the new building right next door to their previous location, which is leased by Dallas County Extension. Torbert says the new facility is twice the size of their previous office which will allow for more classes to be held.
“We do a lot of pesticide applicator classes, we will be having those in our new building as opposed to holding them in the community building. We have updated our equipment, we have a great reception area, it’s a very new, fresh building and we could not be happier to be in it.”
Torbert tells Raccoon Valley Radio they are planning to have a ribbon cutting and open house later in July.
“It will be held during our county fair, again we see that as another great way to celebrate our partnership with the Fair Board and we look forward to having folks come out.”
