The Adair Sesquicentennial celebration, which celebrates 150 years of existence of the city, kicks off today with many events.
The opening ceremony for the celebration will begin at 4:30pm with all events at the Adair-Casey School with a welcome speech from Mayor Byars along with a crowning of a queen and king, tour of the school and a tailgate served by Little Smiles Company that ends at 7pm.
Then the Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School softball team will play on the Glenn Anderson field for a double header against Pleasantville and the games will start at 5:30pm. Also at 5:30-7pm, there will be hands-on agriculture experience from the Ag For All, along with skits in the gym starting at 7pm and fireworks from 9pm until dark.
