The Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs Girls Soccer Team won the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Class 2A State Tournament on June 4th. 

The Mustangs were able to earn a victory over North Polk 5-0 in the quarterfinal, Xavier 3-1 in the semifinal and Waverly-Shell Rock 2-0 in the Class 2A State Championship to be crowned the Class 2A State Champion and finished a perfect season with an overall record of 22-0. Waverly-Shell Rock was the defending Class 2A State Champion from last year where they beat the DCG girls to win the state title last year.

Four girls from the Mustangs Soccer Team were named to the Class 2A All-Tournament team in Elena Bartak, Avery Korsching, Maya Fritz and Kylie Knief. Korsching was named as the captain of the all-tournament team as well.

The Mustangs will say goodbye to five seniors from this team that won the state championship when they start their year next season.
