The Perry Chamber of Commerce held an event Friday to celebrate the opening of the Lynn Hulgan Insurance Agency-State Farm.

Nestled along Second Street in Downtown Perry in the old Perry Chief Building is Lynn Hulgan’s Insurance Agency State Farm. Hulgan says she officially took over the building in early January and the business was officially open May 2nd after the opportunity arose to run the State Farm office. 

“It was a bit serendipitous. I had an opportunity that knocked on my door at a time when I was kind of looking for a way out at a previous company, so it worked out that this fell into my lap at that point. I went into training for about four months, five months and then opened this up and couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the community.”

Hulgan tells Raccoon Valley Radio there was a temporary agent out of Clive after the previous State Farm Agent Melodie Whiton retired in August of last year. Hulgan says so far the response from the community has been good as they are happy to have the physical location. Hulgan says there are also plans for community involvement too.

“Obviously, I think we are going to be pretty involved with different events and just participating around town as much as we can volunteering time and whatnot it’ll be exciting..”

The Lynn Hulgan Insurance Agency-State Farm location is at 1316 Second Street Suite B in Perry.
