Last night was a rough one for the West Central Valley Wildcats, as both the baseball and softball teams lost both games of their doubleheaders against the Van Meter Bulldogs. The baseball team fought hard in their first game, bringing it to 2-3 in the third inning, but the Bulldogs were able to score big in later innings, and left the Wildcats with just those 2 runs.

In their second game, the Wildcats baseball team kept things closer, as they smashed it at the plate for 6 runs in the first inning, leaving the Bulldogs to scrape away at their early lead. The Bulldogs only scored 3 runs in the first inning, but were able to pick up another in the second. They then scored another three in the 4th inning, and their final run in the 6th, to bring the game’s final score to 8-6 in their favor.

The softball team kept things close in the first game, ultimately losing 7-4. In their second game, the Bulldogs ran away with the score, ending the game with a 2-13 loss for the Wildcats. The softball team returns to the field tonight, as they head to Des Moines North to take on the Polar Bears.
