Kristin Lang (middle) receives $5,000 for her business, Warm Wishes
A new business in Jefferson will unveil a taste of what they have in store this weekend.
Jefferson native Kristin Lang is opening Warm Wishing at 200 East State Street, the former Heartland Bank location. Lang tells Raccoon Valley Radio her business features stationary and gift items that celebrate everyday and the extraordinary. She points out that a lot of her stationary items are from independent artists.
“So at Warm Wishes you’ll find a lot of letter-pressed cards, so a small batch of unique, kind of one-of-a-kind products that you can’t find at like a big box store or an Amazon. Like, these are real people, real artists and makers that are using really old tools to produce these really new cool cards and designs.”
Lang explains her inspiration behind the company’s name Warm Wishes.
“I thought that it brought a level of comfort, kind of like how you would close a letter to someone, like ‘Warm Wishes, Kristin.’ It made me feel comfortable and cozy, but also I think had that kind of sparkle and celebration with it as well.”
Warm Wishes soft opening is from 5-8pm tonight and tomorrow right after the Bell Tower Festival parade until 5:30. Lang encourages everyone to check out her new store and there will be a kids craft on Saturday as well.
