The Greene County Supervisors met in special session Thursday afternoon.
County Auditor Jane Heun requested from the board to conduct a recount from the central and east precincts from this past Tuesday’s primary election. Heun submitted the written request because those two precincts experienced a paper jam with the OVO tabulator when a ballot was inserted to be scanned and counted. Because of this issue, each of the tabulators read one number higher than the actual number of voters who signed the Declaration of Eligibility form at those precincts.
The request was based on the recommendation by the Secretary of State’s Office, along with Heun.
The Board approved the request unanimously and the recount is to be done as soon as possible using the OVO tabulator and a new memory card.
