Jordan Mullen, Atlantic, was driving west on Hwy 44 at V Ave, when he observed a vehicle crossing the center line into his lane.  He swerved to avoid a head on collision, but the trailer he was pulling was struck by James Brierton, West Des Moines.  No injuries were reported.  Damage to Mr. Mullen’s vehicle and trailer was estimated at $10000.  Damage to Mr. Brierton’s vehicle was estimated at $10000.  Dan’s Towing was called to take away Mr. Brierton’s car and Mr. Mullen’s trailer.

June 9

A minor was traveling near the 13000 block of Knox Ave when he stated a tire blew and he lost control of the vehicle.  The vehicle rolled into a ditch.  No injuries were reported and treatment by EMS was refused.  The minor driver and a minor passenger were released to their parents on scene.  Damage was estimated at $4000.  The minor driver was issued a citation for No Valid Driver’s License.

Isaiah Peterson, Winterset, was driving in the 11000 block of Hwy 44 when his vehicle was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Laci Rishel, Panora.  Traffic had slowed for farm equipment and Ms. Rishel was unable avoid a collision.  No injuries were repoted and damage to Mr. Peterson’s vehicle was estimated at $5000.  Damage to Ms. Rishel’s vehicle was estimated at $10000.  Ms. Rishel’s vehicle was towed from the scene.  The other vehicle was driven away.

Aaron Willis, age 25, 500 3rd St, West Des Moines, was arrested for Operating While Under The Influence.
