The baseball and softball teams made their way over to Guthrie Center to take on the Chargers last night, and split the win column in their games. The baseball team scored 2 runs early in the first to take the lead, but were unable to hold the Chargers back, and ended the game with a tough 12-2 loss.
The softball team also scored early, pulling into a comfortable 4-1 lead in the 1st inning. They added three more runs in the 3rd, and another five in the 4th, before scoring their final run in the 5th for a commanding 13-2 lead, which was also the final score.
Sophomore Zoey Dickson led the team in hits and runs batted in, with 3 hits, a perfect batting average, 3 runs, 4 runs batted in, a double and single base hit, and a homerun. Junior Marissa Hagen led the team in earned run average and strikeouts, with an ERA of 2.8, 5 innings pitched, and one strikeout.
The softball team is back in action tonight, as they host the Ogden Bulldogs.
