New Opportunities Guthrie County is reminding residents that they are accepting applications for water assistance and other needs

Director Rhonda Huggins says that people can come into their office and apply for the Low Income Household Water Assistance Program which runs from now until the end of September. She explains this program will assist low-income households with water and wastewater bills.

“That is, if the city that supplies your water or the provider that supplies your water has a contract with new opportunities. Not all cities do. I think most of them in Guthrie County do now. We keep adding to our list. So if you need help with your water, please contact us.”

Huggins adds another program people can apply for is Weatherization Crisis Funds program which reduces energy costs for low-income households. For more information and an application contact the Guthrie County New Opportunities Office in Guthrie Center.
