Dallas Center – Grimes girls soccer will be looking to put forth a major effort this afternoon in Des Moines, as they participate in the 2A semifinals against a challenging Cedar Rapids – Xavier team. DCG comes in with a flawless 20-0 record, Xavier at 13-3.

Both teams were able to play good soccer in their wins in the quarterfinals, DCG defeating North Polk 5-0, and Cedar Rapids – Xavier defeating Spencer 3-1.

DCG will be looking for their second consecutive state tournament final while Xavier looks for their first appearance since 2019. They have 10 titles total as a program.

Both of these teams score at high clips, with DCG having 100 goals on the season while Xavier 88, both teams having huge differences in goals scored vs. goals against.

Both of these teams have faced off in state tournaments in the past, with the Saints leading that record. DCG will be focused on putting balls on net, finding good defense from all tiers of their team, and continuing to ride the solid play from everyone thus far.
