Late last week the Greene County softball picked up its first win the season and the baseball Rams won their first conference contest. The Rams were 7-4 softball winners over Boone on Saturday morning in game one of the Ogden tournament. The Rams were 0-2 entering the day, then after winning vs. the Toreadors, came losses to Gilbert and Carroll. Coach Tom Kennedy’s team is 1-4 entering this week.

Coach Matt Paulsen’s baseball Rams won a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference game in Jewell on Friday night vs. South Hamilton by a 6-4 final. Greene County is now 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the HOIAC. The Rams host defending Class 2A State Champion Van Meter Tuesday night at Allensworth Field in Jefferson. The varsity contest can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with first pitch set for 7:30 p.m.
