The summer reading program with the Adel Public Library will soon kick off and hold many special events throughout the summer.
The summer reading program will get started with a kick off at 10 a.m. June 8th at Evans Park in Adel with plenty of activities for people to take part in. Patron Services Manager Amy Puck says it will be a fun event.
“It’s going to be a extravaganza of events. We have a bouncy house, we have story time, the ADM High School Cheerleading Team will also be there. We are partnering with the Adel Parks and Rec Department so they will be there with fun activities as well as balloon art and some other crafts that you can have while you are there.”
Puck tells Raccoon Valley Radio signups for the summer reading program will officially begin tomorrow and then participants will be able to start tracking their reading for prizes on June 8th. Puck says there are four age groups ranging from 0-19+. Puck explains the prizes that can be earned throughout the program.
“Each category will read a specific set of minutes as you complete the halfway mark and the completion mark, you get tickets to put into the different prize baskets that go along with your age group.”
