The Panorama School Board recently approved a bid to pay a portion of the Clay Street Extension project from 316 Northeast 5th Street to Northeast 6th Street.
Superintendent Shawn Holloway says the Board approved a bid from Castor Construction for $439,000 and that was contingent on Panora Telco doing their portion of the road. Holloway explains how this project will help the school district.
“It will allow traffic to come into and leave both our buildings in two different ways. So currently to get to our elementary, it’s kind of a one way in and a one way out. So one of the biggest things for us is we feel like it will improve traffic flow, would improve emergency time response if that’s needed, just because it’s allowing people multiple ways in and out of our district.”
Holloway hopes the project can get started on June 1.
