The Stuart Police Department is getting ready to kick off their Summer Youth Programs and the first year registration is high.
Sergeant Katie Guisinger explains she is thrilled to begin their four week program next month with the activities that includes a youth police academy, hiking camp and animal discovery camp at Springbrook State Park and a visit to the Blank Park Zoo. She says for each program they have between 40 and 45 kids signed up. Guisinger thanks everyone who helped her fund these programs.
“Whether it’s a donation, whether it’s fundraising or grants, I wouldn’t be able to do these programs. They do get costly and I do try to be fiscally responsible with that money but the more I can get the better I can enhance these programs.”
There will be a program every week in June starting on the 9th.
