The Panorama Panthers girls soccer team is taking on the Des Moines Christian Lions today in Urbandale for their next round of Class 1A Region 3 play.
The Panthers are looking to keep their postseason alive as they take on the Des Moines Christian Lions tonight in what should be a tough matchup. The Panthers have faced off against the Lions once this season which resulted in a 10-0 loss. The Panthers girls find themselves in this round after winning their last match against the Kuemper Catholic Knights by a score of 2-1.
The Panthers girls have played well this season as they currently sport a record of 10-5 on the year heading into their matchup against the Lions. Multiple players have been solid contributors this year including Mia Waddle who has 18 goals on the year placing her 24th in all of Class 1A in goals and Laci Rishel who has eight goals on the season as well. For goalkeeping Lindsey Meyer has 116 saves on the year which places her 29th in all of Class 1A girls soccer.
With a win over the Lions tonight the Panthers girls would find themselves in the Class 1A Region 3 Championship game. The Panthers girls will take on the Des Moines Christian Lions beginning at 6 p.m. tonight from Urbandale.
