With an Ocean of Possibilities theme, the Perry Public Library summer reading program is officially ready for everyone of all ages to dive in.

You can now officially register for the summer reading program with the Perry Public Library that features programs for all ages including kids, teens and adults. Children’s Librarian Suzanne Kestel says there are plenty of events to take part in during the summer reading program this year and it’s a good way for children to keep their fluency during the summer.

“I just encourage everybody to sign up, our registration is May 23rd from birth through adults and it’s just a good thing for children to read during the summer so they don’t lose any of their fluency and so we encourage them to do it and this is a free event.”

Media Librarian Jill Cook tells Raccoon Valley Radio adults can also participate in the program by reading books and doing book reviews that will enter them into prize drawings weekly for prizes or a grand prize drawing including for a tablet and Perry Bucks. Cook says there is also programming for adults and encourages people to register.

“We do ask you to register for the programs. Capacity is limited so we want to make sure that you sign up for any of the adult programs.”

Each age group of the summer reading program will also have prizes participants can earn throughout the summer reading program.
