It was another very busy day in 3A boys and girls state track and field in Des Moines, and for the ADM Tigers, they were able to find a state champion in the girls 4×200 meter relay race.
ADM girls was able to put up in the 4×200 meter relay race with a mark of 1:42.12, as the Tigers were just able to hold off the rest of the field. The team was composed of Makayla Crannell, Jada Grove, Hallie Henfling, and Olivia Tollari. For the Tigers, this was the first captured state race in 2022. Kirsten Kilker finishes 18th in the shot put with a mark of 35-10. Olivia Tollari is able to finish 2nd in the long jump with a mark of 17-10, and Crannell is able to finish 7th in the same event with a mark of 17-03.
In other results for the girls, the distance medley team finishes 7th with a time of 4 minutes 17 seconds.
On the boys side, an unfortunate dropped baton has the 4×200 team finish 20th, capping off a strong season for that team. Vince Benetti was able to put up a 10th place finish in the shot put, putting up a mark of 50-10. The boys distance medley team finishes 8th with a time of 3 minutes 37 seconds.
The third and final day of the state race is today, and Raccoon Valley Radio will be keeping a close eye with live updates from Des Moines.
